Ah, that does look nice. I guess I got a different Alden makeup produced for Tassel HK:

Yours are beautiful but I have a high instep and Alden Balmorals don't work well for me - that's why I grabbed the Bluchers from Tassels even though it is ridiculous to think of the "carbon footprint" of those shoes - from the French countryside (sounds better than slaughterhouse) to the Horween tannery (4 miles from my house) to Middleborough to Hong Kong back to Chicago.

Does anybody have suggestions for retailers that carry unlined bluchers? My dream Aldens (and I don't know if they exist) are unlined plain toe bluchers, Barrie last, in brown calf with a flex welt sole.

I think it depends on the calf. I like my black shell Aldens much more than my black calf Aldens. Definitely worth it. Better calf, of course, would cost more.

I went ahead and preordered a pair of black shell LWB. It should be here in ~6 months.

To Zippy or anyone else with whiskey PTB's...can you fellas post up a picture? I'm usually not a fan of plain toe's, but I want to see how they look. It's either this or whiskey LWB's. I fear the LWB's will be too close in color to my dark tan LWB's from J. Crew, this is the only reason I didn't buy the whiskey LWB's instantly.
