Alden's crepe sole is a much longer lasting stuff than what's on clarks, plus it comes dark to begin with so it won't look as ugly after a few wears.

Here are a few quick pics of my tankers as they look tonight. The scratches on the leather part of the sole are from my hopping on a friends bike the other day with some sharp pedals. I treated them with Alden black boot cream at first, but that made for a really shiny finish. I've gone to Obenauf's which gives a nice soft finish, much more similar to how they come from Alden which I prefer.

And just because here is a pic with my Indy boots (1 month old), my Russell chukkas (1 year old) as well as some DBs and a pair of Katahdins in the background.

What are those brown boots, behind the tankers and next to the clarks?

They are the first ones, the Engineer boots. Excellent boots for the money. The leather is really thick and soft and they are well put together. Probably the best value out there in a solid and nice looking boot.

Kathadins are much better than their $150 price might indicate. You can't go wrong, especially if you live anywhere you get snow in the winter.

Those alden indy 403's look money.

Those look great! I love the standard Indy. The Somets are also very nice.

What's the consensus on sizing in the Barrie last (AF84)?

If I'm a 11 in Sperrys/Vans/Varvatos and 10.5 in Quoddy/Clarks DB/Jack Purcell?

10 or 10.5?
