Some new makeups spotted.

Military last Dark Brown Regina Grain:  Officer & Chukka

YES! The thread's curse has been lifted!

You have to give it to the guys at Trunk Clothiers: they closed their eyes and threw four darts at the Alden board --hitting (1) chukka, (2) plantation crepe, (3) dark brown regina grain, and (4) military last-- and made it. The end result is sort of the Pontiac Aztec of shoes, but the feat is still noteworthy.

I love Alden chukkas, but those are really bad.

I'll try to spice things up with a few pictures. Here are my AF53's that have a few months of pretty heavy wear on them. I wear these in bad weather and all (still has water spots). This pair has really thick leather - much thicker than any other pair I own. The rolls are really prominent and don't flatten even with shoe trees in. It's a good sturdy boot that (IMO) deserves more recognition.

I love how the flash shows the character of the leather. My other #8 shoes and boots don't show this color under the camera's flash.

I spoke to DC yesterday, as I was #4 in line on the list for the Cigar Boot in 10D. They fulfilled the size order to 4 and mine are in route to me now. It's a shame the factory wasn't about to fulfill all order in all sizes.

Agh - that bumps me out then, I was 5 (maybe 6) - these are on Barrie, right?

Is there a difference in quality/color between the JCrew cts and the #8s that DC has? Or is it more of a welt/sole difference?
