I went through a similar search a while back and couldn't find what I was looking for. Leffot had a lined "light colored" suede chukka last time I checked in a few sizes. In the end I went for an unlined tan suede chukka on the Leydon last (flex sole) from Alden SF and couldn't be happier.

You know, that could be a good call. I wanted the crepe sole purely for comfort and I have the LWB on the leather sole and it's definitely not as comfortable as the crepe. How is the flex sole? Is that the same thing?

Basically, I want a chukka as a replacement for sneakers.

DV, stop treating them. Just wipe them with a damp cloth and brush them to death. From your description, they may be saturated with oils....
Thanks roguls, I suspect you're correct. The haziness disappears with the damp cloth. It just returns as soon as I start wearing them again. I'll wipe and brush and hope it helps.
[/SPOILER] nephew, you are too harsh on yourself, your king ptb look good to me
Thanks uncle Mac. Nice 990s, yours look great.

Just an FYI, Alden San Francisco has a pair of whiskey ptb's in size 8.5D in stock. They are a great shade of whiskey and someone should be quite happy with them.

Hope someone benefits from this info!

Thank you kindly my friend!

I have the same haziness issue with my color 8 LWBs. I applied Saphyr Cordovan creme a couple of years ago and it has never been the same. Still looks good, but not like my other color 8 shoes.

Dear Friends,
My Whiskey (old Ravello) PTBs have finally arrived! I looked them over twice and they are in fact my size!

This was a really small run (12 pairs) at Alden SF and I was very lucky that they had one in my size. Here are a few pics right out of the box.

And another pic next to their Ravello (old cigar) LWB brother.

I can't wait for Whiskey Wednesday! Happy New Year everyone!
