Quite the score tifosi. Congratulations! They look almost like an English country boot in a C&J sort of way, but still distinctively Alden. Wear them in the best of health.
Thanks, Be! Can't wait for fall!

She's not quite ready to handle cordovan yet. Maybe when she's 3.

Here is the finished product of her labor.

Alden For J Crew tobacco LWB
I use AE Chili polish on them to get some red tones. Inside they look very Ravelloish

nice color on those. great shoes.
Alden #8 captoe on Grant.
I just couldn't pass up a deal from a local member on these! Great guy and I got myself some great boots! Only worn a couple times and barely creased.

Folks, I have a classic question on how to down one size with Barrie last. I usually fit perfectly with 8E on White's boots and a bit tight on Alden 8D in grant last. Not sure what should I take between 8D, 7.5E or 7.5D in Barrie last.

Thanks for any advise. Gotta order soon!

I wear a 12D normally...and I'm a perfect 11.5 D in a Barrie last. I'm not sure if this helps or not, but I thought I'd chime in.

I am an 8.5D on Grant and an 8D in Barrie. If you are a tight 8D in Grant I would think that a 7.5D Barrie would work well. IMHO.

How about if I go for 7.5E on Barrie since my 8D grant is a bit tight on the width.

The Barrie is quite roomy at the ball of the foot. I guess it depends on how wide you are. The Grant fits perfect at the ball of my foot, where the Barrie is looser in the same area. So depending on how tight the Grant is, I would say the Barrie would fit less tightly than the Grant even in a D width.
