1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Alden x Leffot Naval Boots arrived today.[IMG] Did anyone else who got these boots buy them in their tts and not their barrie size? I went barrie size, 11D, and it seems on first fitting that I should've gone with my tts of 11.5D like I had to with my Alden x J Crew perf cap toes. Could be just stiff new boots. Anyway, I will be employing a more extensive use of the Mac break-in Method thru the weekend with better pics to come.

I think the rule with all Barrie lasted high boots is to at least consider going up either a length or width from your Barrie size in shoes. All of my Barrie boots fit snugger than my Barrie shoes - that said, I don't need a bigger size, while some may.

The LHS is literally the only Alden model where whiskey is my first choice. After that, probably a toss-up between color 8/cigar/ravello. And of course they are all nice.

9D Brannock and my 8.5D LWBs fit great. Otoh, the one pair of 8.5D Barrie boots I had were too small; I felt they ran short. If/when I get another Barrie boot, I'd def. consider going TTS 9D rather than up a width to an 8.5E.

Fantastic shot for the summer! It's your LHS images that have me strongly considering adding the LHS to my rotation. I think they look particularly nice in the lighter shell colors as pictured above.

this is one of alden best models and it would be nice to have the rainbow. I would take cigar over ravello. remember #8 is the king

I completely agree. I think my most worn Alden is actually the 986. I know it gets over looked for more rare models but when I cannot decide which shoe to wear to a meeting, out to dinner, etc. I simply go with the 986. I think it is such a versatile shoe. I also love what Tom at LS did recently having it re-soled with a natural welt and a red Dainite sole.
I would love to add a cigar version to my collection.

Nothing wrong with a #8 LHS, but I agree that the LHS is especially nice in cigar, ravello, or whiskey.
