1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

I would probably get a lot of wear out of something like that for business casual purposes. I have a pair of NST tanker boots in color #8 on the barrie (and am wearing them right now) and they are my go to boots when I want to wear boots to the office. I think the cigar color would be just as useful. I often see people post their NST shell shoes in here and get very tempted each time I see a pair. I think the NST is a love it or hate it type of shoe/boot though.

    Great look.

I am starting to prefer agatine eyelets instead of blind eyelets on these boots...

I think it looks really good in boot form.. something about the shoe thought that I do not like.

Agreed. Not a fan of the Barrie, but Mac's NST-shoe on Barrie linked above looks really good.

I missed those, too. Normally not into long-wings, but those look awesome!

That's good advice. I've had less than great experiences over the yrs in Boston. My one positive was for the Hammer & Last in Hampton, NH which is near me in Newburyport. He added a vibram/topy to two pair of RMW boots which came out fantastic.

However, when I need soles replaced, I'm sending to B. Nelson in NYC. Their JR Rendenbach sole service is stellar.

Waban Shoe Repair or The Sole Man (right across the street from each other) have been good to me. However, they can both be difficult if they're not into what you want. I could see something like a dye job being problematic.

There's a shop in Harvard Sq. at the corner of Mt. Auburn and Mass Ave. which did an impeccable topy job for me. Do not go to Felix Shoe Repair down the street.

May I ask where you are looking into for these? I have been looking for a shoe in this makeup.

And as a practical matter, they lace up (and un-lace) way more more easily and evenly with one pull...no need to do it in stages.

I think the Tanker Boot looks awesome. If I would have known in time, I certainly would have gotten in on the pre-order on Leffot.

    Great looking boot.

At 10am, Canada Post tracking said my Day Trippers were on the truck for delivery. I probably won't get 'em until tomorrow. Fucking Canada Post.

So I just bought my first pair of Aldens, the jcrew #8 PCT in 8.5 (usually a 9 in dress shoes/boots). What should I buy to take care of them?

Alden is going to SERIOUSLY have to step up their QC if they want to venture into the $700 territory. they aren't even 50% off the quality/attention to detail as a similarly priced english shoe (purchased in england, forget exchange rates).

Problem is, they know that they don't have to because assholes like us keep on snatching them up.
