Exclusive makeup for Nettleton’s in Pittsburgh;
Size 8.5US (I’m a size 9, and this fits perfectly. They run a bit big for 8.5).

Man those are nice. I didn't realize Nettleton had their own makes in shell. Will need to stop over as they have fallen off my radar. I'm sure these won't last long and I would also post them on the Alden B/S/T thread.

I’ve seen many fantastic faded color 8 shell boots and shoes... I’m wondering, has anyone attempted to fade black shell? I imagine the green tones would come through. Could be interesting. ?

It's been discussed on here. It will have some green tones, but that green goes away and turns to brown just like all the other colors. There's a Viberg pair that one was a display model and heavily faded. I posted pics of it, and the owner even chimed in. Check out the 2019 thread for fading black shell.

Funny how, no matter what color footwear starts, it always winds up brown. Sometimes takes a LONG time, but brown is the outcome.....
Just waiting for these Burgundy babies to turn brown. Brogue 5ZP "Army Boot". I have the black ones as well, and funny as it seems, both are same size, both same last, yet the Burgundy ones feel a bit better on the feet. For now I'm going to attribute it to # of wears, as the Burgundy have about 20 more wears since new.

My take is shell is not brown .. its actually grey as in muscle membrane..
