Those are a functional work of art. I know some disagree, but I love shell boots/shoes with subtle and/or distinct variations in color. It makes them very unique and they stand out from the pack.
I love color variation in shell

Just bought a pair of Alden unlined dovers with the oiled single waterlock flex soles.

Question, what do you guys think about adding a flush metal tap to such a thin sole?
I do a lot of walking on some rough surfaces here in Hong Kong.

As Hongkonger I feel if you have enough shoes for rotation, say 2-3, that would be much unnecessary esp. waterloc sole is softer and you are adding a piece of steel into it...

Alden Madison NYC. Damn!

My last birthday was a 'special' one for my wife (I think any one that ends in zero meets this criteria) and she decided that she wanted to do something a little above and beyond the norm. I messed up the plans a little by purchasing a Surface tablet, at which point I thought - 'hey, shell costs less than a tablet'. I gave her 2 options, my Dearborns and the AoM NST Monks. I was definitely leaning towards the Monks and was extremely surprised that she preferred the Dearborns. The Dearborns ended up being my most worn pair of footwear over the winter season but man, those NST Monks are nice.

Hello,
I will break in them near the future.

I'm having a tough time choosing between the NST or the wingtip monk strap. Oh well, that will be a decision for 2019... Lbvs! Happy belated Shawn!

Truly is a coin-flip TC. I owned the wingtips and sold them. Still regretting that decision. The only snit was the color of the buckle. I would have preferred silver. Still a very nice shoe and I wish I still had it.
