I'd heard my snuff WTB's might arrive last week - now trying to forget i heard...
(I don't know how you guys survive multi-year pre-orders)
I bought these from Adam at Alden of Carmel. They arrived last week and I promptly put them away until next fall as I thought spring had sprung in Buffalo. I was wrong! About 5 inches of snow gave me good reason to try out the Comando sole!!
Those of you owning Indy boots in both shell and non-shell. Do you go with exactly the same size, or a half size smaller in shell?
Thanks!
I know this has been discussed before, but I've never felt confident as to a consensus:
There's been some talk about shell boots being lasted a bit larger due to the nature of the shell leather (possibly because it's more water resistant, so it doesn't take to the steam so well during the lasting process?)

I go the same size in Indy.
I remember reading that the thought was the shell couldnt stretch as much over the last like other materials, possibly accounting for a perceived roomier end result
I go same size in shell or calf no matter the last. For me, the size difference is not great enough to warrant a size change.I know this has been discussed before, but I've never felt confident as to a consensus:

Yeah, Shell doesn't stretch over time like other materials, due to the denser pore structure that makes the Shell that we know and love. However, it also doesn't get pulled as tightly over the Last as say a Calfskin would due to the fact that it doesn't stretch and if overtightened it cracks or rips. Thus it sort of balances out after time... Though CXL seems to stretch a lot after wear.

I go 10.5B on the Indy Boot personally. On Shell and CXL.
