Does the shirt maker :-

1. shank the buttons?
2. use mother of pearl buttons and offer thicker buttons as options?
3. provide non fused collars and cuffs as a default?

She had sheets of button samples to pick from and I picked some more simpler ones since I'm pretty rough on them and didn't want anything too designer. I've got a big weekend and week coming up so I'll try to get some photos up by end of next week.

I do not think Collar Seasons offer above for US$55.- per shirt, their target is middle income/ spending customers. Not high end, but with this price , it is a good value. Regarding their suits, they do not have any good fabric sample books such as Scabal, Dormeuil or Holland Sherry. Their fabric brands are unknown to me. Their suits are fused with a decent cut and finish, not impressive .

Afterall, it is a good place for mid-price shirts.

My suit is vitale barberis canonico super 140 and it was on their low end of prices. I'm not an expert on fabrics so make your own judgments there. I bought it for regular work or other normal suit occasion wear. I have no idea as to the full extent of their other fabrics (they have many more in the closet out of the way) but I'm happy with VBC quality and price point for a regular occasion suit.

VBC 140 is acceptable, many high end tailor shops use it as entry level, maybe around HK$3xx per yd. with extra pant, I think HK$1,600 (USD200.-) is enough for fabric alone. How much does she charge you? With good photos, I can have a basic idea.

However, to be reasonable. under AUD60.- per shirt is quite tough to get a real bespoke shirt In Hong Kong. Labour and rent are pretty high in here nowadays.

I don't know why if they pin the shirt or suit, then they are not bespoke. Although most of the tailors I used use chalk most of the time, but few of them did use pins once in a while.

He said he got the fitting from a sample shirt and sample suit. If the sample shirt and suit are not the fabric which he ordered, it seems they are not bespoke. He did not described very clearly which leads to a confusion.

Does anyone have experience asking the tailor to cut a suit following a specific style (namely Tom Ford)? Can I bring my TF and ask them to make the lapel, cuff, pockets, etc after the TF suit while making the overall fit more fitted to me? I don't know if popular tailors will do those imitation suits...

I think you can but people can tell the difference easily. Btw, people will know it is not a Tom Ford suit.

The thing with the Tom Ford style is...it doesn't make a whole lot of sense on its own merits. It's 'the Tom Ford style'. If you have a suit that looks like that but clearly isn't a TF suit (as Classic Car says, people will know), no-one's going to look at it and think 'hey, that's an interesting cut suit'. People will look at it and think 'hey, that's a TF copy'. It's just kinda...too much its own thing. If you want a TF suit buy a TF suit, otherwise do something else. Never mind the question of copying in general, copying the TF style has its own issues.

Agree, I brought my RING JACKET MTM to PL to imitate, it's........like 80% there.

It's not bad at all.
