1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

After the asola lucida buttonhole, I've always held Truzzi's holes the best-looking. Theirs is a rounded look though the individual stitches are fairly sparse.

Oddly this jacket has hand sewn buttonholes but the buttons are non-functional

What a great thread-- I know it's been around a while, but...

What alterations tailors in the USA do a nice Milanese buttonhole? Might be fun to have added to next suit

A hand-sewn buttonhole on a Hong-Kong suit (however, the buttonhole was made in Paris)

New Kingston Fashion (HK) made the suit, copying a David Diagne suit I had. The buttonhole was made in Paris by Jessica de Hody.

    Thanks :)

So they shipped the buttonhole from Paris and attached it to the suit in HK?

Of course not. They sew a buttonhole on the 2.2m piece of fabric and then I send it to HK and they do what they have to so that it ends up at the right place!

They did a nice job! Can't even see where the patch begins and ends. [IMG]

In truth I have seen a patch where you couldn't tell there was one. Not many can do that.
