I must say that I'm surprised of this weeks meagre number of entries.
Mr.Butler, I've always admire your posts. Your fits have always been inspirational to me. If I am ask, as I am intrigued: how large are the cuffs on your trouser?
I must say that I'm surprised of this weeks meagre number of entries.
I can't say I am. Obviously I can't speak for others, but my own lack of participation this week derived from several factors, and I wouldn't be surprised if they're at least partly shared by others. Firstly and most importantly to me, I post outfits in challenges because I find it rather fun to experiment with a new outfit concept for that week, within whatever the theme's restrictions are. I find the challenge most fun when said outfits have to be worn by participants at some point during the challenge week rather than simply throwing entries open to dredging of photo archives. It diminishes my interest in coming up with something new.
Secondly, any "best-fitting" challenge is naturally going to restrict entries compared to themes that concentrate on patterns or specific items, simply because it's unlikely that anyone without bespoke items will feel excited to participate. Narrowing it further it to a single item of clothing, without any reference to the overall outfit, will diminish inspiration further as it becomes a dry comparison of various tailors' skill & cut rather than being an active creative challenge for participants. So despite having some decently-fitting RTW linen trousers, I wasn't interested in posting them, as they should (I would hope!) pale in comparison to other members' good bespoke examples.
Having said all of that, there are some certainly some nicely-fitting pairs of trousers in this thread and I daresay that it's very useful to the membership to have such examples posted somewhere on the board; I just can't say that it inspires me to have fun & experiment around the challenge theme in the way that, say, the recent four-pattern theme did.
YMMV, naturally.
All entries need a serious sliming, imo. Looks to be a wide leg pant showcase.
