I agree with everything above. Personally, though, I think tan shoes look pretty sharp with navy, but I know it's frowned upon generally and is probably also too fashion-forward for a man my age.
I suffer not from that temptation. I would, however, be very tempted to wear those Carminas with jeans. How much trouble might that get me into?
...they would pair nicely with a variety of spring and summer palettes -- any blues ranging from powder to mid-navy (but not too dark), whites, light greys, tans and light browns, and cream.
