I'll play! Just finishing up classes.

PS: at least two of my students guffawed and rolled their eyes whilst I took that pic...

First rule of being a professor -- never take pics of your shoes while students are around!

The secret is out anyway. They've long since discovered my Instagram.

I definitely need to not make an instagram. I don't think i could handle the harassment from mine. :) Our secretaries have already commented a bit about my recent shoe acquisitions...

Any response on the Rogue?

Left a message with Allison earlier in the week, but she was out of the office. I called earlier today but was on hold for a while and then had to leave. I think she's still catching up on voicemails/emails.

I'll try her again tomorrow morning if I don't hear back from her before then.

I don't imagine it'll be a problem, but I do want to confirm with her that this is doable before moving forward with recruiting to 12.

So, after being home all day, eager to accept delivery of my oxblood Eagle Rivers, I leave the house for 1 hour to take my son to the doctor. Boom. FedEx truck is pulling away just as I round the corner of my block.

Oh well, I'll post pics on Tuesday when I get back in town and get to actually receive and unbox them.

Damn!

Pulled the trigger on some Mora 2.0 brown/bone spectators today. Unfortunately the color change tripped the $125 up-charge.

The pain of the price will be offset by the arrival of the shoes.

I finally had to enlarge a pic to spot the seams separating the brown part from the bone part but I get it now (I think).

I'm guessing the inside half of the shoe will appear as a convention cap toe spectator. The outer half, ie the buckle side, will be a little unusual looking.

Pretty creative idea! Can't wait to see them.

I can't remember who gave the tip, and I'm struggling to find the post now, but someone mentioned that there were a bundle of second-quality (mostly) shell shoes sitting in the Freeport, ME store. I gave them a ring and ended up with these guys:

They were labeled as "light brown cordovan". Anyone else have this color cordovan from AE? I think it's a pretty good score, no? This is part one of my first shell purchase with the other pair being a burgundy Westchester. @rostov thought that the recent drop of cordovan Westchesters to the shoe bank might be first quality, and I think he is correct. They look superb.

Ben from Freeport sent the entire list of their custom shoes in stock in Freeport, and for everyone's convenience, here it is (I'm not sure what the strikethroughs mean...maybe they were sold already):

@tjyoung : The tip came from Neo1 and what a tip!

Great score!! Those appear to be natural shell which has a range of colors.

Finally, many thanks for sharing that list! I think that may up Ben's commission this month!
