I like the second pair more than the first personally, but couldn't pull off either.

I usually dress up jeans with a pair of samba's.

Any thoughts on this shoe by Alden? I'm looking for a tan/light brown or even burgundy chunky-ish wingtip suitable for jeans. Unfortunately, I have no idea what my size is. Are there better, more affordable options out there?

What's your size? J had something like that for sale a few weeks back.

Are you referring to GS's Sears wingtips? I think they were too short/too wide for me. 10D in AE PAs but probably closer to 10E since my foot is very rectangular shaped (flat and wide between the ball and heel).

These ones: http://www.styleforum.net/showthread...138#post486138

But they sound like they will be too small for those rectangular monstrosities.

They're nothing close to Quality Shoes as preferred around here, but for chunky wingtips there's always Bronx. There's more colors than these available, I just chose the default pix from Zappos:

I ordered myself a pair of those boots but they got lost crossing the border.

I have a pair of these sitting in front of me right now that I am working on an ebay listing for, and I must say that they are a really nice, durable pair of shoes. The pair I have is cordovan colored and developing a rich patina, but I'm sure brown would be just as nice. The Alden number for the cordovan is 964, 963 for brown suede, and 962 for burnished tan.

Very pretty, VMan.

I like the styling on the bronx boots, as I do on pricier NDC boots and some others, but something about all of them bothers me--like they're cheating or something.

I personally like suede for dressing up jeans. That, or Brogue's, but I don't own a pair of those...yet

Edit...soz...Chelsea's are cool too
