The city of San Francisco, along with San Mateo County and Santa Clara county,
which comprise Silicon Valley, are among the top 15 wealthiest counties in the
US in terms of per capita income, yet there are no quality bespoke tailors nor
bespoke or MTM shirtmakers in the area that I am aware of. As Andy57 has
pointed out, several travelling tailors who are popular with SF members have
stopped visiting San Francisco.
Unfortunately, despite their means, people aren't buying or wearing that type of clothing in this area. If they did, there would be.

I wish it weren't true.

Wealth ≠ good taste. Or at least taste in bespoke clothing, despite the economic means to afford it. This concept is especially true of the San Francisco Bay Area. You're more likely to see millionaires or the odd billionaire in a vintage Star Wars T-shirt, a Giants cap, a Patagonia jacket, and Birkenstocks than a suit. If not the tech bro look, the Bay Area also has a sort of hippies with money aesthetic that also tends to permeate the area. Andy57 is an exception to this and a paragon of style.

When I lived in the Bay Area for art school my self selected uniform was a T-shirt, Pendleton shirt, a vintage Barbour jacket, jeans and Iron Rangers. It was pretty effective since layering is essential.

I exchanged email with Antonio Pastena of Sartoria Pastena. He is reasonably well known on this site - here is a thread dedicated to him. There are also references to him in the Ongoing Bespoke Projects thread.

I have heard that his prices are reasonable and his quality pretty high.

He is on tour in the US right now, and he is coming back in April.

If he can get five or more appointments, he is willing to come to the Bay Area in April. I very much appreciate his willingness to consider this.

If you live in the Bay Area and are interested in an appointment with him, can you please reply to this post in the Bay Area Members Group thread, so that I can tally easily? Feel free to respond, even if you don't live here, but are willing to travel here for an appointment.

If there are more than 5 commitments, I'll ask him how he wants to organize things.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. I'll cross-post in a couple of other threads.
