Not to get into body-type talk, but it is a little surprising to me since I think Schneider works on a wide variety of people. That said, there are certain styles designed with a specific fit in mind. The heavier knits (especially the pull-over styles) are usually slightly relaxed. The structured coats and blazers tend to be more fitted. Each season there are both regular and slim shirt styles released (the style names change season to season though).

Cardigan Ijevan: Someone asked about the fit earlier. In general, the fit is slightly elongated and slouchy (not really oversized though). If you go true to size the shoulders may be a little relaxed like in the lookbook. You can go one size down if you want the shoulders to be more fitted (might be useful if you plan to layer it under a coat a lot) and the cut through the body will remain nice and straight.

Poncho Tapestry (Tapis): This was mentioned in another thread, but I thought I’d address it here. The fabric used is a knit cotton because it is best able to reproduce the intricacies of the pattern.

I really appreciate the detailed measurements that you post and it's through your site that I've come to understand that the regular and slim style shirts are clearly different cuts and not just nutty inconsistency.

J, could you add a note that the shirt is slim fit just as a data point? Looking at numbers will tell us about basic stuff but for us muscular guys shoulder widths and such don't work out so we could know to stay away from those labelled slim.

The armenian jacket doesn't look like it fits very well with the rest of Schneider's stuff. He should stop going crazy on all the weird tartan/plaid patterns on his coats, even the patterned hoodcoat doesn't look good.

Also, I wish we would stop calling it "the new alpaca coat." The alpaca coat had a buttoned knit alpaca lining - hence the name - while this coat has some sort of a double closure. While it may look similar from far (general pattern and asymmetric closure) it is really quite different. But mostly... there's no alpaca in it ...

edit -Actually, the lining might? I think most of the coats were 92% wool 8% alpaca on the outer, though, but the tweed one is 100% wool.

Can't be developing so much of his own fabric and not showcase it.... but yea, not a fan of this seasons alpaca armenian jacket in general due to coloring decisions. Even the basic two tone alpaca armenian jacket has some weird coloring decisions (hood or shoulders off color). The tartan alpaca armenian jacket could have probably worked better with some solid color worked in it's layers...instead of just tartan overkill. The shoulder seams dont match up the fabric pattern well either, which is a pet peeve of mine.

I have half a mind to buy it back from you but unfortunately it's too warm here. I think it works best as a layer underneath a jacket. partly because it's cropped which I don't think looks great when worn on it's own and partly because it's so sexy that to reveal the entire thing is just too much.
