Thought of this when I saw Ivwri's latest Yohji fit

Chaplinesque by Hart Crane

We make our meek adjustments,
Contented with such random consolations
As the wind deposits
In slithered and too ample pockets.

For we can still love the world, who find
A famished kitten on the step, and know
Recesses for it from the fury of the street,
Or warm torn elbow coverts.

We will sidestep, and to the final smirk
Dally the doom of that inevitable thumb
That slowly chafes its puckered index toward us,
Facing the dull squint with what innocence
And what surprise!

And yet these fine collapses are not lies
More than the pirouettes of any pliant cane;
Our obsequies are, in a way, no enterprise.
We can evade you, and all else but the heart:
What blame to us if the heart live on.

The game enforces smirks; but we have seen
The moon in lonely alleys make
A grail of laughter of an empty ash can,
And through all sound of gaiety and quest
Have heard a kitten in the wilderness.

I was returning home by the fields. It was midsummer; the hay harvest was over, and they were just beginning to reap the rye. At that season of the year there is a delightful variety of flowers---red, white pink scented tufty clover; milk-white ox-eye daisies with their bright yellow centres and pleasant spicy smell; yellow honey-scented **** blossoms; tall campanulas with white and lilac bells, tulip shaped; creeping vetch; yellow, red and pink scabious; plantains with faintly scented, neatly arranged purple, slightly pink tinged blossoms; cornflowers, bright blue in the sunshine and white still young, but growing paler and redder towards evening or when growing old; and delicate quickly withering almond-scented dodder flowers. I gathered a large nosegay of these different flowers, and was going home, when I noticed in a ditch, in full bloom a beautiful thistle plant of the crimson kind, which in our neighborhood they call "Tartar"...

snow, i was thinking of an idea for a shot, seeing as you're semi-pro and all, could you do some shadow boxing in a smoky gym ? preferably wearing all-white, maybe some ann and damir, a bit like a mix of Kobe's styled shots and Boris BBS pics I've put up.

Snow, you're a boxer? Hell yeah. I've been doing it for around 7 years now.

This is a fragile thread. Be gentle.

ok I should clarify. ex-semi pro, snow was regional champ in southern ontario. he stopped after shattering this guy's jaw -- a serbian-canadian who has now moved to Las Vegas/Miami and plays poker professionally instead since he was told he could never fight again -- i know him just through his girl that was a friend of mine back in the day.

snow, if you keep deying it, i will have to post the pics. you know which ones i'm talking about, there's even one with you putting your wraps back on during this house party / gathering since it was something like 2 year anniversary since you'd put down the gloves. good ol days those were

just look at the language he's used, "burst your bubble [read: round face]"

I always wanted to learn to box. I like watching most of the big fights, though not the heavyweights. Still waiting for Mayweather-Pacquiao, like everyone else...

FL, I'd never heard of Laurie Anderson before now. Just watched one of her performances of "O Superman"—really, really incredible stuff. Her music reminds me a bit of Arthur Russell.
