You should see the movie. It's great and the clothes are excellent.

More often it's Chopsticks -- the most grating thing ever composed for wankers who can't really play the piano.

Then there's the Moonlight Sonata. I just got off the phone, where I was put on hold and forced to listen to an insipid electronic tone version of this. It very nearly succeeded in drowning out Mandy, but, alas, not quite.

That gets stuck in my head all the goddamn time. The melody is really hooky. I played jazz trombone in high school, so that probably explains it.

I now have "*** on Feel the Noize" stuck in my head from someone's comment about my avatar.

In the same vein, I also often get "You've Got Another Thing Comin'" by Judas Priest, which I think is a really great song, stuck in my head. "Living After Midnight" isn't quite as catchy, but it's a good one too.

According to the email forward I found him in, he's a 'hardcore' cat, but he's Dutch, so what that adds up to, I have no idea. I think he bumps along with Judas Priest pretty well, though.

Cherish - Kool & the Gang

Let's take a walk together near the ocean shore
Hand in hand you and I
Let's cherish every moment we have been given
The time is passing by
I often pray before I lay down by your side
If you receive your calling before I awake
Could I make it through the night

Cherish the love we have
We should cherish the life we live
Cherish the love
Cherish the life
Cherish the love
Cherish the love we have
For as long as we both shall live
Cherish the love
Cherish the life
Cherish the love

The world is always changing
Nothing stays the same
But love will stand the test of time
The next life that we live in
Remains to be seen
Will you be by my side
I often pray before I lay down by your side
If you receive your calling before I awake
Could I make it through the night

Cherish the love we have
We should cherish the life we live
Cherish the love
Cherish the life
Cherish the love
Cherish the love we have
For as long as we both shall live
Cherish the love
Cherish the life
Cherish the love

Cherish the love
Cherish the life

Cherish the love we have
We should cherish the life we live
Cherish the love
Cherish the life
Cherish the love
Cherish the love we have
For as long as we both shall live
Cherish the love
Cherish the life
Cherish the love

Cherish the love we have
We should cherish the life we live
Cherish the love
Cherish the life
Cherish the love
Cherish the love we have
For as long as we both shall live
Cherish the love
Cherish the life

Rock Steady - the Whispers

I looked at you
You stole my heart
You were all that I anticipated
I wanted you -- Every part but I knew that love would be complicated
I began to touch -- But you wouldnt let it
It never seemed to be the right time
I started to give up -- down to the limit
And then you changed your mind

Chorus
And we begin to rock steady
Steady rockin all night long
And we begin to rock steady
Rockin till the break of dawn

You looked at me to my surprise
You were too anticipating
I should have known -- It was in your eyes
That you were gettin tired of waiting
You wanted me so much -- But I didnt get it
How could a brotha be so blind?
I started to give up -- But love wouldnt let it
Then you walked into my life

chorus

You wanted me so much -- But I didnt get it
How could a brotha be so blind?
I started to give up -- But love wouldnt let it
And you walked into my life

chorus

Let's Hear it for the Boy - Denise Williams

My baby he dont talk sweet
He ain't got much to say
But he loves me, loves me, loves me
I know that he loves me anyway

And maybe he dont dress fine
But i dont really mind
Because every time he pulls me near
I just want to cheer

Lets hear it for the boy
Lets give the boy a hand
Lets hear it for my baby
You know you go to understand

Whoa, maybe he's no romeo
But he's my lovin one-man show
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Let's hear it for the boy

My baby may not be rich
He's watchin every dime
But he loves me loves me loves
We always have a real good time

And maybe he sings off key
But thats alright by me
Because what he does he does so well
Makes me wanna yell

Lets hear it for the boy
Lets give the boy a hand
Lets hear it for my baby
You know you go to understand

Maybe hes no romeo
But hes my lovin one man show
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Lets hear it for the boy

Maybe hes no casanova
Still his kisses knock me ov-ah

Hear it for the boy
Lets give the boy a hand
Lets hear it for my baby
You know you gotta understand

Oh, he dont score at bowl-a-rama
Still you gotta thank his mama

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Lets hear it for the boy
Hear it for my man
Let's hear it for my baby

**** "he don't score at bowl-a-rama / still you gotta thank his mama"...was that really in the song?? :O

Oh, good lord yes! In fact any of those Paul McCartney & Wings numbers from the early 70s is a good candidate. Silly Love Songs just about tops my **** list.

And yesterday, just when I thought things couldn't get any worse with Mandy, I got home from an evening out with "The Farmer in the Dell" going through my head (WTF??). I didn't have the heart to blame it on the margaritas.

The lowest of the low, however, is Kumbaya. If that ever gets stuck in my head, I may end up bludgeoning myself to death with a blunt instrument.
