This might be sacrilegious to some here...but I'm thinking about trying to shrink my wool purple melange v-neck. I'm kinda in between a small and medium. I'm trying to decide if I want to attempt shrinking the medium a bit or stretching out the small. Since the shrinking depends so much on the sweater's weave, I wanted to ask if anyone here has any experience with shrinking SNS knits.

I tried it and ruined an SNS Herning Fang. I wouldn't mess with it.

if you want to shrink it maybe try it in the dryer for a little bit at a time

Has anyone ordered from Frans Boone or End and had to pay import duties to the U.S.?

Ordered a Navy Blue Mix Stark from End Clothing on Friday, got a call this morning from Fedex wanting to pre-clear the item through customs (Asked for whether it was knit/woven, for men/women, material, manufacture and manufacture address). Wondering if this means I'll get hit with fee's, never had them call before.

Boiling wool is a century old treatment. I'd call in transformative, rather than ruining. Whether you like it transformed or not is another question altogether. Knits can easily be washed, dried most of the way, and then stretched to the fit you want. Wovens, now that is tough. If you are going to do post-construction processing (like garment dyeing), then you have to either do a good job of shrinking all the fabric before hand, or you'll probably have to make a bunch of samples before getting it right.

Regarding the fees, I don't know where you live so i'm not sure of your regulations but it should depend on what you told them it was worth.

I live in the U.S. and oddly enough they didn't ask how much it was worth with all the other questions. Just got it in today and no fees yet.

End Clothing's photos aren't too far off in color, just a bit less grey/green look to it. I'll see if I can get a better pick when there is better light out.

you'll get a fee notice in the mail from fedex about a week later. i just got hit up for like 16.5% of the cost of my stark... oh well.

I've got a black Stark (old fit, size XL) that's too long on me and an army green Stark (new fit, size L) that's not quite big enough. Thinking about selling them both and getting it right with an XL in the new fit...

I'm looking at buying a prior season full zip Fisherman - I'm 5'9 140 and wear Small in most everything (including a SNS Herning t-shirt I have). Fit should be fine for the jacket, right?
