If you don't want to moderate the CE, then don't, but have the decency to drop the pretense. Be honest about it. Put a disclaimer up top that says "The CE is an unmoderated space dominated by the worst elements on the Internet. No attempt to make it civil or sane will ever be made, so enter at your own risk."

We're minutemen, not the LAPD in He Walked By Night. I look at everything that is reported, but I don't hover over the forum reading every new post making sure that it passes the "harumph" test.

I delete offensive posts that are reported, like the one you reported last night. What exactly would you like to be done? A pillory thread?
I was under the impression that you and a couple of others had the ability to edit out off-topic posts in the threads that you have started. Is this not the case?

Possibly my favorite scene in cinema is the end of Rosemary's Baby when all the old duffers dressed like they're stepping out for the early bird in Boca stand up and raise their glasses and shout "Hail Satan!" It's just the funniest contrast imaginable and proves that Polanski, though a dirtbag, is a genius.
