Thanks for the comments all. The size of this Bedford is a large. I actually have a s/s 16 Bedford in a lighter fabric also in a large and think it works well without any gaps around the collar area. The Bedford in the pics is an older model. I'm not sure if the sizing has changed slightly or perhaps different fabrics fit differently.

I've added a quick pic (**** quality) with a shirt for reference. Fairly sure I will have to move this on. Interestingly I think a size down would be too small as I can only really comfortably wear a shirt under the large.

EG sizing definitely changes. I think the issue with your bedford is it just doesn't fit on the shoulders and arms.

@Doogan -- looks much better.

Try not to button all 3 buttons on the Bedford. I personally like buttoning just the top button a la @blue peter .

I really have no idea why I waited so long to buy a Bedford. It's been all I wanted to wear lately (need to get the button loop repaired)

^ The fit on those fatigues is perfect.

Thanks man! I'm really stoked on this pick-up.

Are those tapered? They gotta be tapered...

These are the SL 107, the slim fit version of the OG 107. All I did was take a pair of scissors to the length and rolled them. unfortunately they're incredibly hard to find in the US, most stockists I've seen are in the U.K. and one in Canada.

The Earls Apparel eBay store seems to post them up occasionally as well (I think there's a brown ripstop on there now).

Some recent purchase which arrived just in time for a recent cold snap - namely, some Needles Outlast melange gloves, a FW10 chesterfield, and a FW16 knit tie. And the amazing upholstery on Calgary buses. The

I could use some help figuring out the season of the olive blazer, too - it's a bedford with non-removable buttons in what I think is a heavy whipcord.

I also picked up a FW13 Miner shirt, which is pretty nice.(With a SS11 CPO)

Hey man! Love the look.
What is the size of the parka?
Did you take your normal size, or sized down (like some suggest).
Concidering buying one for myself, but not sure what size to choose.
Thanks.

I don't see EG as a 'size down' brand, in my opinion if you have to size down then that item is not for you. That may sound quite militant, but as has been said before, trust Daiki, Daiki knows...

hmmm, agreed, imho, for most items, staying "true to your size" is best (for me, "sizing down" in an over parka or highland parka can be a question of having room for layers beneath, as not much of the desired fit is lost when sizing down, just the ability for significant winter sweaters/jackets), but if you're starting out with your first piece and it's a size too large, then sizing down is really just adjusting to your correct size in EG. also, for off the rack jackets, the most important fit is the shoulders...if the shoulders fit then, exceptions aside, the garment will usually fit in the neck, sleeve and generally the body (although the body is often the most commonly needed/simple adjustment). bottom line, if the shoulders don't fit, you must acquit...and always trust daiki...

I generally agree that it doesn't usually work to try and force EG to fit in a way that it wasn't designed to.

That said, for individual designs and pieces the sizing can be really inconsistent season to season and sometimes within seasons. I trust Daiki and his team but I have to believe some of that is not by design but just a result of fabrics/washes/differences in manufacturing. So if you like how the highland parka fits a size down? Don't not buy it because it would be untrue to the ethic of EG or something.

For people who are in between sizes do you usually size up or down? Bedford specifically.
