Lot's of Appreciation for small money: Bally single monks from their Scribe handmade collection. Very nice leather and wirkmanship here, as one would expect from Made in Switzerland.
Lovely beveled waist with fiddleback.
Excited to put these to use. And, as always with new shoes, shying away from the first concrete contact.

A little progression from box fresh, after the first polish/wax and with a little higher shine on the toe and heel prior to the first wear. Will be wearing these tonight so wanted to make sure they were ready to go!

Also, am a bit ashamed about this, but these are my most recent City IIs in museum brown calf. I had neglected to put them in trees the two or three times I've worn them, so they have ugly deep creases (deeper than the ones on my many-years-older black City IIs) and had a sad matte finish to them. Needed some love, and since I didn't have an extra pair of shoe trees available, stole the pair out of my black City IIs and tossed them in. Hopefully they'll look a bit better after a couple more wears (and subsequent tree usage!) and after this cleaning and polish.
