Glad I read this before commenting on your previous post. Excellent to keep the spit shine to the toes only. The flexible parts of the leather need different (less drying) treatment.


My thoughts exactly . I hope these pictures give a bit more insight in the smooth transition from 'glaze' to 'normal shine'. The amount of visible pores in the leather decreases towards the toe as the glaze increases causing reflections to be less clear the further away they are from the toe. Glazing a too large area will cause the glaze to crack resulting in something quite unattractive.

For the life of me I can't manage a mirror shine on any shoe except on one pair of black C&J I own.
