This is a good example of how much blobbier lasts look when you are looking down at them on your feet as opposed to looking at them on somebody else. That F looks like a blob in the top pic, but very nice in the bottom. Always good to examine shoes on your feet in a mirror.

Talk about shoe damage to PR...Bespoke shoes scandal claims scalp of Hollande aide!

Paris (AFP) - A close advisor to Francois Hollande resigned on Friday after allegations about a conflict of interest and his extravagant lifestyle dealt a fresh blow to the beleaguered French president.

In a statement to AFP, senior political advisor Aquilino Morelle, 51, said he was stepping down but denied any wrongdoing in a scandal that has put the spotlight on his collection of 30 pairs of bespoke shoes.

"I have decided to put an end to my duties as an advisor to the presidency of the republic... to be entirely free to respond to these attacks," Morelle said.

They are a Swedish wholesaler for shoe care products and shoe accessories, for example Collonil, Kiwi, Pedag etc.

J., I've switched from Saphir polish to Collonil as the number one shoe addict in Finland recommended them. Collonil is cheaper, does not reek and gives at least as nice a shine as Saphir. Have you tried both so far?

Cool. I've tried Collonil years ago, remember that I thought they were really good too, but just stuck with Saphir since I had already had a bunch of products from them. But I know my favourite cobbler around here, and probably the best in Sweden, also prefers Collonil to Saphir. Do you use their standard line or the 1909? And who is the number one shoe addict in Finland?

BTW: You should really get on a boat and come to Stockholm on September 20!
