I guess I'm oblivious, but I never saw any complaints about the the huddler site.
The switch back to the old is not being greeted with universal acclaim. See the Welcome Home thread.
Oh well, at the end of the day, the strength of the site is its regular readers & posters. If that remains unchanged, the rest is just window dressing.

What do you guys like as a tobacco fragrance? I thought Feuilles de Tabac was pretty good, but FT left me scratching my head (and holding my nose a bit).

Wearing By Kilian A Taste of Heaven today. I had my doubts about this one, but I am picking up on the wormwood now, and I think it's a note that I quite like.

Well if you decide you love it, for god's sake let me know. I've got 300ml of this and looking to sell some :D

well I like FT but don't overly consider it a tobbaco scent. And there are sooo many to try. Anything from Sonoma Scent Studios Tabac Aurea to Miller Harris Feulles de Tabac, to of course Tobacco Vanille and Back to Black, hmmm I'll have to go check my pile of samples and see what else I can remember. Maybe Dali PH? or one of the Aramis lot like JHL or Havanna, etc. There's a ton of tobacco scents out there.

I don't think the issue was with the forum itself, rather the rest of the changes. The Reviews, the Directory, etc... my only ***** about BN before/now is how slow it is.

Yesterday Antico Caruso. Another terrific barbershop scent.
Today, court, so it's eau naturelle.

Chanel-like construction.

Wut's this mean?

It has this smell to me that shares a resemblance with all the vintage Chanel that I've tried (like No 19, No 5) and then the newer Cuir de Russie. Now, Chanel is first and foremost defined by the use of aldehydes, so I'm stretching it and probably being misleading to some people who think "Chanel-like construction" means aldehydes.

Earlier in this thread I made a comment about Eau de Tommi Sooni II where I compared it to Guerlain fragrances in regards to the structure or classic backbone of that house's fragrances. I think Tommi Sooni has done a good job creating fragrances that have a classic smell to them, with two classic houses to provided inspiration without him flat-out copying them like so many plagiarizations today. The classic backbone to Guerlain is easier to define and has been discussed for decades as the "Guerlainade" structure - this one is easier to define compared to the Chanel, for me, because others with a better nose have picked it apart already.
