Well, I live in Texas and somehow I survive the summers wearing a roughly equal combo of pants and shorts and never wearing sandals. Chucks without socks are almost as cool.

Fannings are pretty comfortable for walking around but the bottle opener is kinda ridiculous. That is unless you:
1. Step in dog ****
2. find your enemy
3. Open Beer using sandal for enemy
4.??????????
5. PROFIT!

I've never had trouble...I guess if it were a hobie cat or something...I mean, if you lose one they float, so just tack and jump off and let your friends pick you up.

I can't wear thongs or slides due to some problematic feet (they slide off). I need a back closure to keep them securely on. Any other decent looking sandals with a back closure/buckle?

^^ I like those. I have a pair of Varvatos sandals. Distressed leather, done in the ancient Greek style with the 'tongue' over the toes. They're great for hot weather. Also: foot grooming, is an absolute must. If you don't want to do professional pedicures, take time to keep your feet looking good, on your own. Crusty heels and callouses are as undesirable on men, as they are on women. JMHO.

1: Never wear shorts outside the house, even on 90+ days.

2: Never wear flip flops, sandals, thongs, shoes that show any feet underneath, etc.

3: Always wear socks. Not wearing socks in public is f'in gross.

Displaying your feet in public is akin to displaying your ass in public.
