I mean at this point I agree with some of the previous comments in this thread. It seems they’re chasing a wealthy clientele like Drakes or Saman Amel or the Armoury where 300 vs 400+ for some chinos don’t make a difference to a person.

If they can still sell them at 400+, I’m happy for them, I just won’t buy anything from them anymore (like how I stopped buying Drakes new) and I assume they’ve factored people like me into this decision. So they’ll become a cool brand, that I can’t afford like many others.

I don't really know them to be happy for them like I would be for friends. I did like that Rubato provided a good value proposition and admired their leadership to do that while in high end / luxury space, since so many others don't try to remain accessible as they gain popularity.

Price increases are what they are and every brand is entitled to manage their business however they like. However price increases veiled as legitimate business expenses remind me of supermarkets and others in the US increasing prices but attributing it to supply chain issues, and to me this is disingenuous...

Of course, this is all just yelling in to the wind! LOL still very nice pieces going the way of Drakes because they can.

If anyone is interested in the economics of the company you have the numbers (in Swedish) here. There are no numbers for 2023 yet, but my guesses are they grew even bigger.

Looks like they have been doubling gross revenue year over year.

The Ecru denim has a nice full silhouette and surprisingly also has very minimal stretch. Does anyone with the indigo denim know if the stretch is also minimal? Thinking of picking up a pair so I finally have fuller fitting denims.

If someone is interested, I am considering selling the following Rubato pieces:

- Denim Lot 1 Size 32 (ecru)
- Moleskine Trousers Size 33 (dark navy)
- Zip Sweatshirt Size M (blue)

Please just send me a dm if you would like pictures or measurements. I have worn all those pieces two times max, so the condition is really good.

Are the moleskine trousers officer chinos or five pocket jeans?

Yeah, for e-mail subscribers. But never for popular things. For like things that do not sell well or last sizes generally and the discounts are like 20%. If they will have anything left, then they can bump up to 30%. With Rubato I'd say not to count on sales in general...

They did a 30% (eventually further reduced to 50%) archive sale this winter, and last summer i picked up a nonparelli polo at 30%. So it does happen, but only on seasonal or outgoing models. I don't recall them ever putting chinos on sale, for example.
