Red Wing Boots - Your Opinion

Just received a pair of Red Wing Iron Rangers in 13D and they seem very narrow to me. My left foot is a bit bigger than my right and the toes feel a bit squashed width-wise. Length seems good.

Does this just mean I can't wear Iron Rangers? I feel if I were to go up another size, they'd be way too long.

Thank you

I have a pair of Harvesters. My left foot is also a wee bit longer than my right. Recommended size was 10.5 but I took 10 but I usually wear a 11. So far its ok. Maybe you just have to break in the leather to widen it as it will stretch. Hope this helps

I had a choice between the 8070 and 8071's and chose the former. Can't get enough of the Klondike leather and the Gro-Cord King B soles.

Why spend a fortune in Viberg or other similarly priced workboots brands, when you have Red Wing, that´s a mistery to me

Anyone in Calgary, the Redhartt work wear store on 32 Ave is blowing out a bunch of Red Wings. I got a pair of Black Cherry Beckman Rounds for $200 CAD.

I found a great pair of new old stock Red Wing Pecos Boots from 1992.

They don’t look like anything I’ve ever seen from Red Wing though. I think that they must be some sort of special build. I’m having a hard time identifying the leather that was used. It’s not embossed.

What do you think?

Good. Ive never really been bothered by the break-in period of red wings but that doesn't mean it's an easy time on my feet. I bought the black brogue rangers recently and I'm in the process of breaking them in. They are so dressy looking it's hard to find a lot of situations to wear them besides weddings, hot dates, etc... Which also don't occur too often. They are great looking boots though. I feel a bit fancy when I wear them
So I've avoided wearing these great boots for the past 3 years because the gusseted tongue folded right on top of the inside of my ankle bone (Medial Malleolus?) and it was so painful wearing them. So I did the sacrilegious surgical removal of about an 1/8th inch of the gusset and that totally solved the problem. I now feel like I could wear them to walk a marathon :)

Red Wing 8596 is essentially the black Red Wing 9596 but in brown. I only have 1 pair of chukka's but they are super comfortable even though there are only 3 lace holes on each side. The combination of the Dark Chocolate Cache leather and Coffee cushion sole gives it a more subtle appearance as opposed to the stark white "Christie" style sole.
