a few months ago
when i was visiting
cappelli in napoli
we were browsing
his archives
and admiring the
past offerings
of
holiday and brown
adamley
and
david evens

there was a particular
david evens fabric
that was quite nice
it was a floral neat
in a fresh but still
muted and elegant
colour
it was printed
on a hopsack woven
silk

i thought that
it was a very
alternative for
a warm weather
tie
and wondered if
it could be remade.

i contacted adamley
since they own the
archives of david evens
along with the blocks
and screens
and cappelli sent a small
cutting of the fabric

i was told that it
can be remade
using the same screens
in the same colours
however
the hopsack fabric
is no longer available
but
adamley suggested
their panama weave
as a good alternative
it has a nice crisp
hand and would also
be a good base
for the print

i discussed with
cappelli about
reissuing this print
in various colourways
as we did with
the grenadine
special run
he was open to
the idea
as long as we
get the numbers
to meet the minimums.

adamley prepared
some colourways
and i was informed
the minimum was
6mt per colour.
i am poasting
them here to see
if there is sufficient
interest in recreating
this design of david evens

as before
@C&A is the
person to contact
for further questions

the ties will
be made by cappelli
as per the usual pricing
on his site
if you want to do
it in a one piece
7 fold
it can also be done
like some of his ties
on his site

i am particularly interested
in options 1, 3, and 4

nb option 1
is the exact same colour
according to adamley
it just looks different since
it is a rendering
and not printed
option 2
is the inverse colours

The apparition of these patterns from the past;
Petals on a crisp, silk ground.

1 & 3 would be my favourites as well. I assume the ties can be made up to individual specs?

Yes individual specs just like any Cappelli tie. Pricing exactly the same as for his other ties as per his webshop.

I will summarize where we stand today or tomorrow. There are also some potential participants on the Dutch forum. We need a 6 meter minimum per colourway.
