Let me first start by saying hello and....

inb4 stupid jokes that attempt to be funny and fail quite miserably, take your **** to 4chan and the likes.

Now, I just had my hair cut today after having a mop for like 3 months. The hairdresser said I should go for a short cut, then I can style it how I want, she said the long hair made my face way to narrow.

Problem is, I don't know what style to do or how to accomplish it. My hair is naturally straight and at the moment feels light.

I don't want maintenance and styling to take forever, just something simple, yet effective.

Hair looks a bit fluffy because it was blow dried after my shower.

Thanks in advance.

You are good looking to start with.

The hair length in your photo is perfect and versatile.

It would be more helpful if you had provided more information.
Example:
What is your lifestyle?
What type of work do you do?
Does your job a)require -or- b) permit you to be yourself, or is there a dress code?
What activities do you like to do on your spare time?
What is your personality like?
What kind of clothes do you wear or like to wear in the future?

You don't need to type personal information like 'I work at XYZ Corporation',
but in general terms like 'I am an office worker' -or- 'I do factory work'

Please take a moment to answer the above questions,
and someone will help you.

Active lifestyle, into lifting weights etc.
Currently at school and not employed so dress code doesn't matter.
Spare time I lift weights, play PC games, go out with friends.
My personality is pretty outgoing and friendly and I'm a bit of a smart ass/larikin with my friends. When meeting new people I am a bit reserved.
My style when I'm lazing around the house is soccer shorts and a plain t-shirt but when going out with friends its more jeans and a tee shirt.

Thanks for the first comment lol. The stylist said that it was a good length because I told her I wanted something different and she said this length you can do different stuff with, just not sure what.

Based on your information,

You can just have fun with your hair.
Try something different every day.

Example:
after washing, try some gel or mousse.
A little goes a long way.
Work it through your hair with your fingers,
styling as you go.
Let dry, and don't mess with it once dry.
It should 'hold' the way it dried.

Or slick it back.
Or comb it from left to right, or right to left.

Each day experiment.
Try a different thing each day,
and say nothing to anyone.

The experiment is to see what is getting positive comments,
and which are not working.

You have 365 days in a year,
so have fun with your appearance.

Try also styling it in ways that are 'not you'
Doing something different, is also a way to reveal a look
that works for you, but you may have over-looked.

Ask your female friends over.
Call her up and tell her to do something with your hair.
You'd be suprised how many girls would want to get their hands on you...er..your hair.

Bottom line here is...
be inventive, and have fun.

Some days I just take some mousse,
and with my fingers, I work my hair straight back,
then loosen it a bit.

It's fast, and makes me look out-going & rugged.

Whatever you choose,
the secret is,
Clothes or hair....just do it,
and then pretend like you don't even care.

Whatever you choose,
just don't 'pose'.

I hope this helps.
If you get laid, I get her sister (make sure she is of legal age)

If you get slapped,
I am not responsible.

Actually, he's right, lose the whiskers. It will clear your face up. Give the mo a go in a few years time when you can grow something with a little bit more substance.

I like your hair as it is. Go for a hair product that doesn't weigh much and isn't wet and just fluff it up. Do the bedhead look. Lift it from the back and scruff the front. Have fun, you're young.

+ 1, not to derail as it's not what you were asking about, but I agree that you should probably try to stay clean shaven. A weak attempt at any sort of facial hair really doesn't look good. Speaking of facial hair, I'd also suggest trimming those eyebrows a bit... just wet them, brush them upwards and trim a bit. Nexus6 - I don't know where you came from or when you joined but i've seen quite a few posts with you giving a lot of good info. It's good to see people being so helpful.

HA! Those eyebros I messed up myself when I was in Grade 5. I thought I was getting a monobrow and starting chopping them with scissors. When they grew back you can tell in the middle they point in the opposite direction to the other hairs and they're way thicker

Thanks for the tips guys.

I would agree - the eye brows should be trimmed regularly and also shave daily. Suggest remove your sideburns as well and make sure that you trim up to them each day.
