Looks awkward now that you point it out, but I never noticed before despite having scrutinized every aspect of the boots multiple times.

Might be the point of view the pic was taken from. IRL I don't think it looks as awkward, but still I'll be sure not to let anyone look at the side of my boots while they are lying on the floor, just to be safe.

I know, I hate when people do that!

"Hey, I like your shoes! Do you mind if I lay on the floor so that I can see their profile from the side?"

Edit: Dogs are notorious for doing that

They don't look that bad. I just noticed it, and was wondering if it was just me. I'd still wear them proudly.

You are definitely on to something, but I don't like them any less because of it. You have a very, VERY good eye for detail.

(I noticed that they had a full heel but only stitching around the front 270 degrees, but I didn't notice how awkward it looked until you pointed it out.)

Thanks for the input. I wasn't even thinking about traction and my own safety, haha. I was worried more about destroying the leather sole! I'm hoping to get these in time to bring on my honeymoon. The last thing I want to be worried about is my leather sole. Im not a big fan of a complete rubber sole, so maybe the tempest is the perfect compromise.

I have the tempest on my ranger moc and they have held up pretty well for the past year or so. But, the regular leather sole on my loafer couldn't allow me not get it toppyed within 3 months, note, the tempest sole ran out when I ordered my loafer...guess I should've waited...

the ripple sole is comfortable IMO, but the heel stack could be lowered a bit.
I should've sized down to 13B (I had venetian loafer in this size), but my 13D now could work with tongue pad or insole.

Just bought a pair of the Read Boat shoes, in Tan Bulldog. A week ago it looked like they were stock in my size (10.5D), just placed the order and it said 2 weeks. Hoping they do have stock and I get a tracking number tomorrow..... :fu:

Guys, I've been staring a lot at these khaki suede camp mocs, which I find to be terrific:

Should I be concerned about how well suede will stand up if these are to be casual shoes that I intend to do some heavy walking in? Should I stick to CXL?

I think these would be great. I personally really like suede. I have been considering a ranger moc in suede as well

FYI, here's the link: http://needsupply.com/mens/brands/rancourt-company/khaki-suede-ranger-moc.html

I love/hate how Rancourts are priced so that they're all pretty much within reach, which is why I spend so much time window shopping and licking my lips. I've learned to stop doing that with, say, Aldens, because they're not within my reach, so I don't bother. That said, perhaps the reason I agonize over the choice of "which" Rancourt is because, though I want, well, all of them, they're not so cheap that I can just go and collect them.

If you like them go for them. It is the perfect suede weather right now so may as well enjoy them as much as possible.

I look all the time as well. I already have my next two makeups pretty well planned out...
