I recently got a pair of green rough out Conistons like @zippyh. Looking to pick up a tin of Saphir Dubbin to re-up the finish.

How much wear have you put on them before the rewax? Wondering how to tell when they need it.

A few updates to the collection.
I recently collected a special order Connaught 2 made from black cordovan in my size & width, on the 332 (Latimer) last that I always prefer. Another huge thank you to Tom and the staff in Burlington Arcade for making this happen, you make this old man look far too good!
I've already got a pair of black cordovan whole cut Weymouth 2 but wanted some classic cap toe oxfords to switch between for more formal events.
Also here's both pairs of my previously seen Fairfords - I had the pleasure of meeting Sator Polishing last Autumn in the Jermyn Street shop and was lucky enough to watch him in action as he added patina to a pair of shoes.
A true artisan in my humble opinion.
I commissioned him to put a subtle museum finish on my dark brown Fairford and a patina on my tan pair.
I'd imagine that this will polarise some people but I'm really happy with the look.
I didn't want to change the basic colour of my shoes and he's created exactly what I wanted. It's such an art that it's difficult to do it justice with photos but here's some anyway. View attachment 1745666 View attachment 1745667 View attachment 1745668

I couldn't find a C&J B/S/T thread, so I started one. Figured folks here would be interested.

Surprisingly cold in Miami, FL today.

Perfect weather for some Tan Conistons on my feet:

I should receive my dark brown Harlechs this week but have a strong suspicion that the size 10 I ordered is going to be too small with this last. I will cross my fingers and hope for the best, but think I will probably end up needing to exchange them for a 10.5.

I think with this r/o leather its really more of when do you want to do it, rather than when it needs it. Some people like to let it soften up and show more nap, which looks really cool on the brown rough out.

Two years out on my black r/o Conistons and there still is no need to do it, although I might at some point to get the smooth black look again.

I'm fairly sure that Connery's Bond wore John Lobb ( bespoke as there was not JL RTW then), Moore's Bond wore Gucci ( and possibly other makes), and then Brosnan and Dalton wore Church's until we get to Daniel Craig who wore Church's for his first two films and Crockett and Jones thereafter.

Any “Bond” shoes are basically only ones the character has worn on film. I’m not sure he’s worn those but I’m sure are secret agent worthy..

Hard to tell from the pics, but I don't think those are C&J.....probably Trickers.
