The MKII Graywater was my companion on our sunny, but very snowy, Veterans Day earlier this week.

Very nice. Have you seen what those (and other MKII) fetch now, used? Pretty amazing.

I was an idiot for not buying that Yao/MKII homage to the IWC Mark XV (can't remember the MKII model name now, long discontinued, predecessor to the Hawkinge) back when it had an ETA movement AND one could customize certain details such as the hands, bezel, etc. It was a great iteration, at a very fair price bitd.

I have to admit I kind of enjoyed it. I have a strong feeling he owns a few of them and is embarrassed to admit it. I know he doesn’t own a mirror. I own a szcs004 and just bought a green dial sport 5 for my son.

Meh - I think he's an obnoxious, vulgar and barely articulate turd. Different strokes and all that.

I agree, just trying to not feed a troll. As you know, guys like him feed off negative reactions. Only connections they can make. Imagine his life with no Internet forums.

Well, I learned from the video that mechanical watches wouldn’t succumb to a nuclear blast. So I’ll be wearing my mechanical Seiko with peace in mind now. ;)

I picked mine up a few months back after years of searching for one. Luckily I had a prior relationship with the seller so I got it for a pretty good price compared to what I was expecting to pay. I've got an MKII Blackwater as well that a few other MKII fanboys have offered to buy from me over the years and I never thought I'd consider selling it but the Graywater has me rethinking that - it fits just the same but it's so much more visually interesting with the pop of yellow on the GMT hand.

I think you are referring to the MKII Quad 10 Type 48. I haven't seen one of those pop up anywhere, even in photos, in a very long time. FWIW, I had a Hawkinge and it was a nice enough watch and still a good value but I just never bonded with it and ended up selling it after it sat in its box unworn for a very long time. It helped me realize that I'm definitely more of a dive watch guy.

Wait are you talking about the fat Aussie or me? Either way, nice call.
