Polo with a tie. Does this look good, am I crazy?

My friend threw a we-just-got-back-from-eloping-open-house on a weeknight last week. The guests were all ages* and it was a pretty casual party. He dresses almost exclusively in khakis or loose jeans and polos, so he has little interest in either style nor fashion. His outfit was black khakis and a grey polo with a black bow tie. It was fun without trying too hard and perfectly captured his intent for the mood.

Yes, you can wear ties with a polo shirt if you combine with with the right color and fabric of the polo shirt. Everyone has the question in mind should I wear a tie with polo? Answer is that's simple, just try and check how does it looks.
