I'm looking around ebay to find a suit for my internship and have come across two that I think are nice from ebay. I was hoping to get some opinions as to which you would buy:

Oxxford 48R grey two button

Joseph Abbound 48R with light pin strips

I realize the colors aren't very exciting but I'm really just trying to maximize quality per the dollar (on a tight student budget). It it makes any difference, I'll be wearing black dress shoes and a black belt.

That Oxxford looks old and dated, and you can do much better than the Abboud at the price. I'd say neither.

The Joseph Abbound is a total waste, especially at that price.

For the Oxxford, the jacket looks ok but the pants look worn out. Unless you can get it at a good bid, you should look for something else.

What's your budget?

^ +1. The Oxxford is completely fine. I got an Oxxford for my birthday and I love it. It will probably last you longer than the JA, too. Plus it's a better price and more conservative for the work place.

My budget is 300-400. I had another thread going about good thrifting in the Raleigh/Durham area, but the responses were pretty negative. Most advised me to look on ebay.

I thought something looked off at the torso. What exactly did they do to make it look odd? How can you mess up buttoning a jacket?

They buttoned both buttons. Jacket is not made to have the bottom button buttoned, so it throws the whole thing off.

I don't know, that Oxxford seems to have a very low gorge and button point.

+1. I'd say neither. For your budget, there are some nice recent Isaia suits that end around there, so you may want to look in to that. There are also some nice Zegna ones which tend to get overlooked. Abboud= Never, unless it's under $15.
