Outerwear style for casual sport coat and jeans

I want to look casual, but somewhat dressed up at the same time. This is for a weekday rendezvous at some nice places. I'll be wearing a cashmere sportcoat over a shirt with jeans and decent shoes. The usual dark jeans sport coat look. Nothing fancy.

Since it will be cold, what outerwear best compliments this outfit while remaining casual? An overcoat is too formal.
