pointless details I obsess over:

3rd neck button on buttondown collar shirts
sewn down full box pleat, if it has a boxpleat
gingham and windowcheck shirt fabric always +
any strong use of burgundy

sleeve length and untucked length, also the way the placket ends hang untucked.

Third neck buttons are amazing. And amazingly pointless.

actually it does serve a purpose, if you've ever worn one with a tie, it keeps the tie from sliding down below the collar level, keeping it looking nice and tie-dy back there

Really? Didn't notice. Now that I think about it, my tie did feel pretty in place. The more you know...
