I read this - I think that this is silly, certainly a little oeverboard. there is a huge difference between this and choosing finely made things that might be from the past. I like some antiques, I like hand made clothes and shoes, I like jazz, but I don't live in the past.

I completely agree. In the Bay Area there are Art Deco re-enactors who show up at
Classic Car shows and probably other venues. They wear (heavy) vintage clothing, eat snacks and drink champagne from wicker picnic hampers and sweat profusely in the California sun.

He runs that big 1920s carnival on that island in New York harbour every year. He is famous. I suppose that gives you some extra cash.
