An interesting style on this short jacket, military inspired.

Too much going on at waist for me I would just have a single button like Eisenhower jacket
I actually like the self-belt. It's clean and simple.

These go great with high-waisted trousers. I wish there were versions in lighter-weight fabric like herringbone tweed or cotton twill.

Cheaper? I assume most LP/Hermes/BC tailoring will use good fabric but relative cheap construction (machine sticheverywhere/half canvassed etc)

Just curious and not necessarily disagreeing, but what is the evidence that LP, BC, and Hermes use relatively cheap construction? I have a couple Hermes sweaters and the construction is great, has details like reinforced armpit interiors that you don't typically see. I also have a number of LP and BC items. The only thing about LP that strikes me as "cheap" is how the labels are attached to their knitwear and shirts.

I'm sure their knitwear is great, and when I say "cheap" I don't mean bad, just "cheap relatively to what they charge", got to think every RTW BC jacket I have seen is at most half canvassed and no handwork (I don't care for either, but it's just from your traditional check the box perspective it's "cheap", though I do expect excellent fabric)

+1

At the Hermes price point, you can get an Isaia SC that at bare minimum is fully canvassed, and has hand-stitched button holes (among other features).

If the Hermes SC in question was sold under Belvest's own label, it would probably be half (or less than half) the cost.

All that to say, I'm not judging those that like the brand (I like TF, and that's another brand that would fall into "cheap relative to what they charge - Zegna has to find a way to recoup the licensing cost).

This looks terrible, and serves as a great reminder as to why I loathe wearing denim lol. Looks oh so comfortable here :rotflmao:

If you read carefully, you'll see I'm talking the jacket. And yes, I loathe jeans too. Replace the jeans with olive chinos, or even with tailored trousers (I would opt for flat front), and you have a pleasant outfit.

Edward Sexton doesn't seem to have a thread here, but Nina Penlington has taken over as the head cutter since Edward's passing.

They are having trunk shows in the US starting next month. Here's their schedule in case you're interested.

Also, Nina was on the Blamo Podcast with @dieworkwear and @UrbanComposition. It was a really good discussion. A Patreon subscription is required to listen to the entire podcast, but the teaser is here.

Oh no, the jacket itself looks terrible. The jeans only look terribly uncomfortable
