I don't need four more ties, but damn...

Keep in mind that the Style Forum definition of ‘need’ departs substantially from what one might find, say, in the OED …

Me? I do believe I feel a need coming on (in the StyFo sense of the term).

Cheers,

Ac

The more soul-searching question is, if all of the patterns had been made, would you have bought every one?

B10 and B12, certainly. B14 very likely. A13 would be to satisfy the completist streak in me.

The knots are smaller from the Panta's I own that have the same description of the silk. I would say they are slightly bigger than say what a Hermes would end as but smaller compared to Zegna or other Italian similar level silks. My thoughts describe the end result as being a pleasure to own, almost more vintage in feel than something current. I am up to about 15 or so of the ties in silk, wool and blends.

Regarding options-

The plan is for us to offer four different swatches, two widths, and two lengths, as mentioned before. These will be chosen independent of each other - in other words, you can pick the length, width, and fabric for your specific tie. That makes 16 options total, so hopefully that's enough for everyone. Happy to answer any specific questions about the process to the best of my ability, but I assure you that it will be very easy once everything is live.

The back of the tie is white-ish as shown above. These will be untipped and handrolled like the above, as is standard for Ed's ties.

As for the knot, I'd love to see examples from others but here's a pic of me - this is the standard 8cm width. Pardon the face.

Oh good grief, how did I miss this? I have three Panta madders and they're probably my all round favourite ties. Too late to vote, I suppose, but I'd be grateful for a note if and when this happens. The relative "need" is irrelevant; I love these ties.

Flip your square around!
