I don't think Dan will survive a close examination of his past and/or present. He will win unless he is taken down first, and then Gawker will get wind of him and it will be over. Foo may very well be called back to take over as Mr. America.

They won't let you get away with not applying labels. Whenever I try to give a less fashion-oriented, less soundbyte-friendly answer, they push harder for specifics and ask leading questions that are impossible to evade effectively.

I would think that the publicity might be good for Dan T since he wants to be involved in fashion. But for Foo who is a lawyer, it might marginalize him within his firm. I've been a lawyer for 8 years and if there's one thing I've learned it's that the only thing you want people to say about you is how hard you work or how smart you are.

If you think SF is full of snarks and a$$holes you cannot even begin to imagine the type of people sitting in the corner offices at BigLaw firms.

That being said, I hope Foo wins.

Excellent practice for honing your courtroom skillz.

The great irony of the competition:
Thousands of dapper dudes vied for the $30,000 prize package, which includes a $10,000 wardrobe from Kenneth Cole

I wonder what the other 20k is though.

Will foo hawk the KC wardrobe on B&S? Will anyone here buy it? If a foo dresses in Kenneth Cole in the forest, and no one is around to hear him scream, does he still make a sound?

I hope nobody from Esquire knows about SF. They would never let Foo win, with all our comments about KC and the like.

Understood. I should have realized as much ... especially given that I've been "quoted" using words that never came from my lips. Then when articles are done about me or my firm ... I find out things I never knew. For example ... I'm a long distance trail runner (you could have fooled me), I'm a bishop in the Episcopal church (I'm not even ordained, says the Right Irrev RSS), and my firm is dedicated exclusively to a modern version of the Arts & Crafts style (except, of course, for the majority of our projects influenced by other styles including Bermudian, Medieval English, Georgian, Neoclassical ... even Cycladic (Santorini) meets steel & glass).

Sometimes I wonder if those writing even listen to the person being interviewed ... of they just invent what they want to hear.

Oh ... and best of luck! Although it seems to me that you have more than luck going for you. Hopefully, the people at Esquire will realize that.

IIRC the ivy league schools do not offer merit scholarships, only need-based.

Cycladic meets steel and glass? Can you post pics? I'm curious.
