Got my first tlb's, artista chukka from patine. The waist on these is so beautiful. Uppers are a bit stiff (not meermin level) at the collar and right above my big toe knuckle(?), but seems to be breaking in reasonably quickly.

Sizing was 10 after a simple email exchange with tlb, and I think the length is spot on. So far all my European lasts are a 10:

Carmina robert/forest/boot forest
Meermin elton
Tlb artista Goya

Its a touch tall at the instep (insoles crushed that big knuckle, ill have to wait till its broken in for a snug fit) but everything else feels great.

I really want bfcm deal to go live cause I want monkstraps bad. I also wish they'd make a slightly lower instep last.

Do the oliver/alan lasts fit the same as artistas or are they slightly different around the waist/instep?
Man that is one good looking navy color ! Also have BF deals been announced?

Specifically comparing artista to main, will they fit the same, just maybe feel slightly different due to the waist?

As Patrick1053 says, some experience them slightly different, but basically everyone wears the same size. The tighter waist improves arch support even further though, yes.

As I've mentioned before here, since the fit of the main line lasts was so praised, the measurements was kept when the Artista lasts were developed, just shapes enhanced, lowered front of toe boxes and lowered toe spring.

If I would be customizing Artista and choose an E-width rather than the standard F-width, would this affect the width of the toe box too?

Yes, but very slightly. The whole volume of the shoe is brought down, with the same relative amount over the entire shoe, this means at the widest points it will be brought down more than the toe where it's more narrow.

Thank you. Toni indeed confirmed this. I guess I need to go the MTO route to get an E-width.

He also mentioned that TLB fixed the issue about their shoe trees being a size too small.

Can't wait till BF.

Can someone recommend good shoe-trees for narrow E width Artista shoes (Picasso last)? The lasted ones from TLB seem to be made only for the F width shoes and are way too wide. Toni was kind enough to send me a new pair after the first ones I ordered had some issues - but they are huge, the shoes feel like they'll burst open at the lacing and the vamp when I try to insert them (even when doing it at an angle and removing the laces entirely).

I was looking at the ones from Skoaktiebolaget but not sure if they won't suffer from the same issue.

I have this problem with shoe trees in general, but I have found ones that are less voluminous. I have attached a picture of it.

Thanks for letting know that the TLB Picasso trees are too big for an E-width, as I was about to order that.

I have the exact same ones from your attachment and they do indeed fit - however, I find the heel is a bit bulky and doesn't really give the shoes a tear-drop shape in the heel once inserted, plus they don't have any support on the lacing.

The Picasso trees I received initially were way too small and one of the shoe trees was in a different shape and size to the other. So Toni sent over a new pair, where the two trees were identical, and in the size of my shoes (6 UK). I tried yet again to insert them but it's literally impossible given how wide they are.
