his pro wrestling career was pretty fast, compared to the others of his generation, but undeniably stellar and made such a big impact. wwe calls pro wrestling 'sports entertainment' nowadays, and there are only a few that excelled in both sports and entertainment as savage. his wrestlemania III bout with steamboat is still one of the best in 'raslin history, and his storyline drama/bullshit with elizabeth and hogan that delineated what was fake and real pretty much changed the storytelling aspect of pro wrestling. r.i.p.

If you've never seen this, it's a 1st ballot YouTube HOF clip IMO.

It was after he died - sheesh, that would FREAK ME OUT if I changed it before he died!

His site/blog is so awesome. He sells "fine art" and posts on all sorts of things. He is absolutely insane, but I would love to meet him.

One of my favorite delis has the Macho Man sandwich special today.

"Pastrami, turkey, swiss cheese, and russian dressing with lettuce, tomato and onion on deli rye bread. Oh Yeah!!"

Wrestlers are by far the most approachable performers out there. It's really tragic that the industry is plagued with so much premature death. Sad that this kind of thing isn't even surprising at this point. Wrestlers live a brutal life and they have nothing but my respect.

Fixed for my own nostalgia.

Somewhere along the way, it went from entertaining showmanship to angry one-upmanship. You could watch and see some sort of craft in the characters - now I see snippets and wonder if I'm next to be hit with the folding chair.
