Because removing the padding from the chest/lats area and leaving shoulders roped would look funny. I'm visualizing something like a Boglioli "soft", near or entirely unpadded/unstructured, jacket but with roped shoulders like yours; it would be a mismatch of styles.Why wouldn't it be? And what do you mean the issue would be with roped shoulders?
Don't remove the padding. It looks great as is.
Just to be clear, I am talking about the shoulder padding, but maybe you are right and I should just leave it be. Have to lengthen the sleeves at least but otherwise this is prob my best fitting otr jacket.Because removing the padding from the chest/lats area and leaving shoulders roped would look funny. Maybe you can pull off something less dramatic that still flows, but I'm with @othertravel :
Do that; get the sleeves proper'd and discuss the padding and what you'd like to achieve with your tailor. He'll have a better perspective with the jacket first hand anyway. Plus, stranger things have happened, but once you get the sleeves sorted you just might change your mind.Just to be clear, I am talking about the shoulder padding, but maybe you are right and I should just leave it be. Leave it as is! Messing with the shoulders is generally a bad idea.Just to be clear, I am talking about the shoulder padding, but maybe you are right and I should just leave it be. Have to lengthen the sleeves at least but otherwise this is prob my best fitting otr jacket.
You did very well yesterday.
No, no, it shouldn't.
just got my latest purchase from spoo, steven salen bespoke cash sc. Fit is pretty damn good without any alterations if you ask me. Gonna get rid of the padding and lengthen the arms a couple cm, but otherwise don’t think anything else will be needed. Fabric is bonkers

Looks like someone made an epic haul over the weekend... IG pics are on fire. They weren't exaggerating about needing a truck!
Matt, I see that some other ebay sellers are adding "A1P" to their listings.
Imitation is a form of flattery!
I am actually relieved that I've been outbid on a Chester Barrie toffee cashmere overcoat;
What size is the T&A covert coat?
Leave it as is!
