If anything, the width of the knot appears to be a little big for the dimensions of the collar as the collar is not a full spread and the points are not that long. To my eye, the knot appears to be straining against the collar. I can't see going any bigger.

Ok, you made your point and if you really did not care what others thought, then there should be no need for any sort of retort against it or even a need to make the post in the first place. Yet:

To be honest, I've never known a really well dressed guy that ties any knot other than a FIH. If you want a thicker knot wrap it twice but windsors both half and full are nerdy.

You cared enough to respond and say that his opinion of the knot in question (the one you endorse) was "silly."

BTW, does anyone feel that the color/pattern combination is a bit off? The black/white checker is a high-contrast, loud pattern, and the bright red doesn't seem to help neutralize it. A dark green or dark gray tie might be better.

And he *is* a Windsor. It says a lot when one is not wearing the knot of their own house.

Winsor or Half-Winsor. Anything else just leaves this huge space under your chin.

being quite pedantic it seems. Let me clarify. I'm certainly not going to change my opinion on what tie knots I like because of what someone on this forum says. Thats not to say I'm not gonna argue about it.
