Having said that I wouldn't invest on this brand, with so many better options out there. I do wonder how long they'll stay in business with such competition and open cross border commerce across many bespoke makers. 

I don't think Lobb St. James is in any danger of going out of business anytime soon.

Perhaps just curious how they draw new clients. But as mentioned earlier probably riding on some heavy coat tails from Hermes royalties.

I've been out of the game for a while but I was told that Japanese customers hiked the price up for a pair of bespoke Oxfords by quite a bit. Is this true? I remember there was a time when you could get JL bespoke for maybe $1500 USD. They even offered two pairs for one order.

JLP bespoke is just over $7000 starting in the US and over 9000€ in Paris. Not sure about JLSJ.

JLP bespoke is just over $7000 starting in the US and over 9000€ in Paris. Not sure about JLSJ.

JLSJ, depending on your options, but around $6,000.00 USD.

LSJ tends to have more traditional styles, but are entirely hand made in the old tradition of the shoe maker. JLP, a subsidiary of Hermes, has more modern styles, but not sure their shoes are entirely hand made. JLP also has access to Hermes leather sources, so depending on what you are looking for either could be considered superior. For my money, LSJ is my preference.

If memory serves, you wear an E in Alden, correct? The 7000 in EE is quite wide already. I take an EE in Alden Barrie, E in TruBalance, G in CJ Pembroke, H in Bonafe and Vass last's, abd the JL 7k in EE is a great fit for me.

Have you tried an EE yet? I think it may work for you.

Yeah I just got a pair of 9EE and it's too snug. 9.5E is ok, a little snug on width but too long. I prefer the city II over an EG Chelsea otherwise I'd take EG and be done with it.
