1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Thanks everyone. On most days I prefer EG or GG to JL but no one makes a double monk like JL. The proportions are perfect, the look timeless, and built like a tank

MoosicPA (and others): How do you like the toe cap on the William II (boot or shoe) compared to the toe cap on the William I? Curious to hear your thoughts ....

I know this is controversial but I prefer the toecap on the William 2 myself!

    Those boots are lovely.

Style preference. William I looks better to me... Much more classic.

I own the I but I like the II since it provides a different cap toe look.

It's a different look for sure but the nature of the folded and stitched construction/pattern at the or cap appears to be less durable than the simple toe cap piece of William I.

Me too, me too! But the price keeps me off for now. Still hoping they will pop up as Rejects, or on ebay for around 40% off. Than it would make sense taking them. For a 1,600.00 USD they are just too expensive.

I think it is a style preference. I have a pair of William I in buffalo tan, which I wear more in the Spring/Summer time. The William II boots with the pitched leather cap toe have a slightly different look, though I doubt anyone not into shoes would notice any difference. Also, the boots are only available in the William II variety. I do like the boots though.... don't see them too often.
