Sorry to bother, may I ask you about the different of 9795 to 7000? especially on the toe box.

9795 is slightly shorter tho I still take the same size. The toe box is narrower, or at least it is more of a symmetrical taper than 7000, which is more pigeon toed. 9795 has a higher instep than 7000 which is already pretty high IMO.

I love the 7000. Will look for a 9795. Last William II I tried did not work too well. I had a Derwent, much like the William, which did ok, on an 8000 last if I recall. The 7000 is a winner for me.

Are these seamless wholecuts?
Yes, they're seamless wholecuts. The JLP workshop has a special machine to make them and is kept under wrap with only 2 or 3 people allowed to see or use the machine.

The shoes requires a special last to be made on. I was told that the shoes only come in that suede leather at the moment since they haven't perfected it being used on other leathers.

Texasmade - any idea why they bought a machine to do seamless whole cuts? Certainly plenty of makers that do them by hand. I wonder what they were trying to achieve.

From the way Paul Wilson was telling me how the shoes are made on the machine, it seems like it's used to prevent ripping the leather. Maybe some of the shoemakers on here would know better, but I've heard that ripping the leather is a common occurrence on seamless wholecuts when the leather is stretched over the last.

Thanks. That makes good sense.

Hello fellow lobb lovers, what can you tell me about the 8695 last.
I thought this last was too classic but I have the Derby II golden museum and the Hinton boot in 8695. Always get compliments. I’m a fan of the 7000 last but I wouldn’t discount 8695.
